I've been writing about the coming bird flu pandemic for a year, but most people are just now waking up to this news. And they're scared. Smart folks have done the math and figured out that no government can possibly cover everyone with vaccines and antiviral drugs like Tamiflu. And the really smart folks have realized that Tamiflu is a one-dimensional drug in the first place, and that the bird flu could easily mutate to be completely immune to Tamiflu. As Dr. David Butler-Jones, Canada's chief public health officer, said, "Quite honestly, nobody knows at this point whether Tamiflu will be effective at all when we face a pandemic. We may have wasted the money that we bought all this Tamiflu for."

People are suddenly clamoring for natural antiviral products. They want to know what they can buy right now to prepare. People saw the government's disastrous response to Hurricane Katrina, so they know that trusting the government to save them is foolish, and they want to protect themselves.

As an independent consumer health advocate, I'm always on the lookout for new products that I think can help people. And today, I've just received the first production samples of a new, highly-potent antiviral product called Super ViraGon. It was formulated by Jon Barron, president and founder of the Baseline of Health Foundation.

I've interviewed Jon Barron, reviewed his work, and found him to be one of the true pioneers in nutritional medicine. A couple of months ago, Jon was considering introducing an improved antiviral tincture product, due to increasing demand from customers concerned about the coming flu season (as well as the bird flu pandemic threat). He recently decided to green light the production of Super Viragon, and the product is launching today. This new product (ingredients are listed below) now joins my list of the TOP TWO broad-spectrum anti-viral products on the market. I'm relieved to be able to announce this, because the other company I was recommending has been swamped with orders, and supplies of their product were dwindling fast. But Baseline Nutritionals has much larger manufacturing facilities, and they can handle greater production volume.

The ingredients are all top anti-viral herbs, foods and minerals. They are:

  • Ginger
  • Onion
  • Garlic (equivalent to an astonishing 30 cloves of garlic in every bottle)
  • Olive leaf
  • Horseradish
  • Habanero
  • Zinc
  • Grapefruit seed extract
  • Wild mountatin oil of oregano
  • Alcohol and apple cider vinegar (base liquids for the extracts)

This combination offers a massive, broad-spectrum defense against virtually any viral load. While nothing is a 100% guarantee against bird flu, there's no question in my mind that this Super ViraGon product will be substantially more effective than Tamiflu (which is a one-dimensional chemical) or even vaccines (which will probably be in short supply anyway).

Jon Barron's formulas are also extremely high in potency. I've actually tasted several of his products (like his Echinacea tincture), and I can tell you that these are the strongest herbal tinctures I've ever experienced. Compared to these, a lot of the standard health food store tinctures taste like water. Echinacea tincture, for example, should turn your tongue NUMB for a few minutes (and Jon Barron's does). This Super ViraGon product tastes like a sweet garlic explosion, and it will not only fight viruses, it also contains ingredients that are well proven to lower cholesterol, boost circulation, enhance cardiovascular health, and much more.

Just for the record, I earn nothing from this product, nor any product I recommend. I make no kickbacks or commissions, and I do not own stock in this company or any company I recommend. I'm announcing this for YOUR sake, not mine (I've already stocked up on antivirals), because my goal is to help save lives if this bird flu goes global. And I want to give you the exact products I trust so that you don't end up wasting your money (or compromising your safety) on some junk products. Make no mistake: the bird flu "panic" is going to bring out a bunch of crooks and hucksters in the herbal supplement market, and there will be con artists selling counterfeit antiviral products just like you see people in the weight loss industry selling bogus hoodia gordonii. That's why I strongly encourage you to stick with companies and products you can trust.

So, to be detailed, my current top-recommended antiviral product is:

Jon Barron's Baseline of Health Formula "Super ViraGon": (current price is $39.95 for one bottle, or $100 for five) http://www.baselinenutritionals.com

(There may be other products added to this list as they are evaluated.)

I also give a cautious recommendation to Sambucol, made from black elderberries, although this is a single-ingredient solution and not as powerful, in my view, as the herbal combination products listed above. Sambucol is also typically sweetened with glucose syrup or other sweeteners that I definitely do not recommend. And yet its antiviral capability is well documented, so it does quality as a proven antiviral supplement.

In addition to various antiviral products, I also recommend a variety of foods, herbs, supplements and even some RADICAL "last-ditch" antiviral solutions in my book, "How to Beat the Flu" http://www.truthpublishing.com/beattheflu.html

These natural antiviral solutions DO WORK. Their antibacterial and antiviral properties are well established through thousands of published studies in the medical literature. This is what I'm personally stockpiling and what I'm telling my family and friends to buy. Of course, nothing is a 100% guarantee against future pandemics, but in my view, these antiviral products represent the easiest and most effective bird flu defense for consumers.

I'm convinced they're far better than Tamiflu, vaccines or anything from the world of pharmaceuticals. In fact, I think that people who rely on drugs and vaccines are far more likely to become victims than people who learn the healing secrets of natural, antiviral foods and herbs.

It is your responsibility to prepare for the pandemic

The White House is now urging families to prepare for the bird flu. In fact, President Bush's statement says, specifically, "While your government will do much to prepare for a pandemic, individual action and individual responsibility are necessary for the success of any measures. Not only should you take action to protect yourself and your families, you should also take action to prevent the spread of influenza if you or anyone in your family becomes ill."

One of the best ways you can do that is to stockpile some of these potent antiviral products.
